ZESA, as the only electricity generator and supplier for the public grid in Zimbabwe, gives out different prepaid meter brands to Zimbabweans who are using electricity. The popular prepaid meter brands that ZESA gives out to their customers are Hexing prepaid meter, Inhemeter, Itron, Landis & Gyr, etc. Each of these prepaid meter brands has its own code. This means that if you are using an Itron prepaid meter in Zimbabwe, the code that you will use to operate your prepaid meter will be different from another electricity consumer who uses Landis & Gyr.

ZESA Prepaid Meter Code List
As we stated earlier, ZESA has different prepaid meter codes for different meter brands, and the codes are function-specific. Some of the ZESA Prepaid Meter Codes are only made of numbers, as can be seen in the ZESA Itron and Hexing prepaid meter codes. However, some of the codes are alphanumeric, i.e., a combination of numbers and letters. The ZESA Prepaid Meter Codes that are made of alphanumeric are ZESA Landis & Gyr and Inhemeter brands.

ZESA Prepaid Meter Balance Check
The codes that you can use to check ZESA prepaid meter balance are i002, 47 and 801 for the Landis & Gyr prepaid meter, Itron prepaid meter and Hexing meter brands, respectively. This means that if you are using any of these meter brands, you can see your current credit units on your meter by just entering the code that corresponds to your meter brand and clicking on the ‘’ENTER’’ button and you will be able to see your ZESA Prepaid Meter Balance.
How to check ZESA meter number
If you want to check your ZESA meter number, the codes that you can use to check it are 000, 100, 804, 000, and 4200 for the Landis & Gyr prepaid meter, Itron prepaid meter, Hexing meter brands, old version Inhemeter, and new version Inhemeter, respectively. Once you input this corresponding code for your meter brand into your CIU, your meter number will display on your screen.
ZESA Prepaid Meter Alarm Code
The codes that you can use to turn off the beeping sound or alarm on your ZESA Prepaid Meter are 90 and 812 for Itron and Hexing prepaid meter brands, respectively. If you want your ZESA Prepaid Meter to stop beeping or making noise, you can input the code that aligns with your meter brand, and the alarm will stop instantly.
